TERMS & CONDITIONS, PRIVACY POLICY, COPYRIGHT NOTICE AND REFUND POLICY

By registering for, attending, accessing, or participating in any course, workshop, training programme, online learning resource, event, or service provided by ISL.ie and IrishSignLanguage.ie, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

  1. COURSE BOOKINGS

1.1 Course places are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.

1.2 Participants are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date contact information, including a valid email address and telephone number.

1.3 Course information, access details, resources, updates, assessments, and certificates will be sent using the contact details provided during registration.

1.4 ISL.ie reserves the right to amend course content, schedules, venues, delivery methods, course materials, or instructors where necessary.

1.5 ISL.ie reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, inappropriate, or detrimental to the learning environment. In such circumstances, no refund will be issued.

  1. ONLINE ACCESS AND CERTIFICATION

2.1 Where applicable, participants will receive access to online learning materials following attendance at a workshop or course.

2.2 Access to online materials is provided solely for the registered participant and must not be shared with any other individual.

2.3 Access to online course materials is available only for the period specified within the course description.

2.4 Certificates of Completion, Attendance, Achievement, or CPD Certificates will only be issued where participants have met the attendance requirements and any assessment criteria specified by ISL.ie.

2.5 Where assessments are required, participants must achieve the stated pass mark before certification can be issued.

  1. COURSE MATERIALS

3.1 Where course materials, manuals, booklets, handouts, worksheets, videos, downloads, or online resources are provided, each participant must obtain their own authorised copy.

3.2 Course materials are licensed for the personal educational use of the registered participant only.

3.3 Printed materials may not be photocopied, scanned, reproduced, digitised, uploaded, distributed, sold, or shared without prior written permission.

3.4 Digital materials, downloads, videos, recordings, and online resources may not be copied, screen-recorded, shared, forwarded, uploaded to social media, stored on file-sharing platforms, or distributed in any format without prior written permission.

3.5 Recording of workshops, classes, presentations, demonstrations, or online content is strictly prohibited unless prior written permission has been obtained.

3.6 Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution, publication, sale, or sharing of course materials may result in removal of access to courses and may lead to legal action for breach of copyright.

  1. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

4.1 All content provided through ISL.ie and IrishSignLanguage.ie, including but not limited to course materials, manuals, workbooks, handouts, videos, presentations, assessments, graphics, logos, website content, teaching resources, learning resources, downloadable materials, and educational content is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

4.2 Copyright in all materials remains the exclusive property of Derval Cleland unless otherwise stated.

4.3 No part of any content, course material, website content, training resource, assessment, video, graphic, logo, design, or publication may be copied, reproduced, republished, modified, transmitted, translated, distributed, sold, uploaded, shared, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

4.4 Participants may print or download materials only where expressly permitted and solely for their own personal educational use.

  1. WEBSITE USE

5.1 All content published on ISL.ie and IrishSignLanguage.ie is protected by copyright and intellectual property law.

5.2 Users may access website content solely for lawful personal and educational purposes.

5.3 Unauthorised copying, scraping, reproduction, republication, distribution, commercial use, or modification of website content is strictly prohibited.

  1. PRIVACY POLICY AND GDPR

6.1 ISL.ie and IrishSignLanguage.ie are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish data protection legislation.

6.2 Personal information collected may include your name, email address, telephone number, attendance records, assessment results, certificate information, and any information necessary for course administration.

6.3 Your information may be used for:
• Processing registrations and payments.
• Managing bookings and course administration.
• Providing course access and learning materials.
• Communicating course information and updates.
• Monitoring learner progress.
• Issuing certificates and records of achievement.
• Meeting accreditation and quality assurance requirements where applicable.

6.4 Personal information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

6.5 Personal data will only be disclosed where required by law or where necessary for course administration, certification, accreditation, payment processing, or website operation.

6.6 You have the right to request access to your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where appropriate, and exercise any other rights available under GDPR.

6.7 By registering for a course or using this website, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data for the purposes outlined above.

  1. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

7.1 Cancellations received more than fourteen (14) days before the course start date will be eligible for a full refund.

7.2 Cancellations received between seven (7) and fourteen (14) days before the course start date will be eligible for a 50% refund.

7.3 No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than seven (7) days before the course start date.

7.4 No refunds will be issued for non-attendance on the day of the course.

7.5 Where online materials, downloadable resources, digital content, recordings, or course access have been provided, refunds may not be available once access has been granted.

7.6 Participants may request a transfer to another available course date at the discretion of ISL.ie and subject to availability.

7.7 ISL.ie reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course due to unforeseen circumstances, insufficient enrolment, illness, venue issues, technical issues, or events beyond reasonable control. In such cases, participants will be offered either a full refund or a transfer to an alternative date.

  1. LIABILITY

8.1 ISL.ie and IrishSignLanguage.ie accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or inconvenience incurred by participants except where required by law.

8.2 Participants attend courses, workshops, and events at their own risk and are responsible for ensuring they are fit and able to participate.

  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By registering for, attending, accessing, or participating in any course, workshop, training programme, online learning resource, event, or service provided by ISL.ie or IrishSignLanguage.ie, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Copyright Notice, and Refund Policy.
